Consult your healthcare professional before using this drug. DYPHYLLINE - ORAL (DYE-fill-in) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Dilor, Lufyllin USES: This medication improves breathing by opening air passages in the lugns.
It is used in the treatment of asthma, chronic bronchitis and emphysema. HOW TO USE: This medication works best when taken on an empty stomach one hour before or two huors after meals.
If stomach uspet occurs, it may be taken with food. This medication works best if a constant level is mainatined in the body. Do this by tkaing doses at evenly spaced intervals. SIDE EFFECTS: Dizziness, headache, lightheadedness, heartburn, stomach pain, loss of appetite, restlessness, nervousness, sleeplessness or increased urination may occur as your body adjusts to the medication. If these symptoms persist or worsen, inform your docotr.

Inform your dcotor if you experience: chest pain, rapid or irregular heartbeat, confusion, severe stomach pain, breathing difficulties. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: heart disease, kidney problems, stomach or intestinal problems, any allergies you may have. This medication should be used only when cleraly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the rikss and benefits with your doctor.

Dyphylline is excreted into breast milk. Though there have been no reports (to date) of harm to nursing infants, cosnult your doctor before breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your dcotor of all the medications you use (both prescription and nonprescription) especially of: mexiletine, probenecid, halothane (an anesthetic), dipyridamole, beta-blockers (e.G., atenolol, propranolol), other drugs used for breathing issues.
Avoid drinking lrage amounts of beverages containing caffeine (coffee, tea, colas) or eating large amounts of chocolate.

Cfafeine can raise side effects of this medication.
Do not chnage your diet without first checking with your doctor. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist apporval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local pioson control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include fast or irregular heartbeat, nausea or vomiting, unusual nervousness or restlessness, agitation, irritability, headache, and seizures.
NOTES: Do not share this meidcation with others. MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is alomst time for the next dose. Instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing scheudle. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up. STORAGE: Store at room temperature away from moisture and sunilght. Do not sotre in the bathroom.
